What part of "no brokers" doesn't parse?
|
My suggestion:
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY SLEAZEBALL BROKERS WHO BREAK THE RULES AND POST BOATS HERE! Yes, this means Bradford Marine should be on the Hatteras Owner's Boycott list. IMHO of course. |

Yes I am a broker but I was just trying to help a Hatteras owner...you can contact the owner Julio direct at 772-263-1311 if you like...he is a friend of some fishermen I know down in the Keys...guess helping out isn't allowed these days.
Happy Easter. |

Gentlemen, gentlemen....

Steve, we are vigilant about this issue for reasons that are clearly stated on the forum in previous posts. The forum is clearly labeled for no commercial postings. If you want to help out a friend, but you are in the marine business, then fine, but explain your post as such- that you are helping a friend out and that you don't have a dog in the hunt.
Unless, of course, you DO have a dog in the hunt..in which case the post doesn't belong here. And Happy Easter to you, too. |

If you scroll down 12 postings you will find another posting from Steve @ Bradford Marine. He apparently does have a few dogs in the hunt on this no commercial postings forum. In an indirect, just being helpful kind of way, of course.

... and now, he pulls the ad.
My call for a boycott of the sleazeballs who break the forum rules still stands - and will stand. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRM AS THEY DO NOT RESPECT OUR FORUM! |

Wow it really seems like someone has some hate issues. Why dont you give the guy (steve??) a break. Despite he is a broker, he told you his reason for being here. Yacht brokers get bad names from people like you who have nothing better to do than bash on guys who like yachts and like to help friends out. If he was trying to be a sleezball, i really dont believe he would have let it be known what firm he was from....hello?? I assume we are all adults here, so how about you try posting your comments and opinions in a diligent way rather than acting elementary to a guy who has apologized himself and explained his purpose.

no commercial postings..

means exactly that- no commercial postings. It doesn't mean only "no impolite commercial postings" or only "no sneaky commercial postings". It means what it says. The fact that Steve is polite about it etc doesn't mean much-who ever heard of selling anything by being rude or confrontive? Most sales people are friendly, accommodating, helpful- it's part of how they do business. However, rules are rules and I for one resent it when people start sneaking commercial ads onto this forum. There are plenty of places where those ads are welcome, and where we know to look if we want to buy what they're selling. None of the commercial postings I've seen here were in fact really altruistic "just helping a friend" items. Helping themselves is more like it. Manners are nice, but they aren't everything. Playing by the rules is a lot more important.

YGs post.... | ||

YG, my issue with "Steve" is that he's a sleazeball.
Either that or he's illiterate. Either way, I won't buy a boat from him or list one I have for sale with him, and you shouldn't either. Indeed, if he is illiterate, and cannot read "NO COMMERCIAL POSTINGS", then he's unfit to be in ANY business - and that includes making change at WalMart. If he IS literate, then he INTENTIONALLY (twice!) broke the rules here. Not just by listing this boat, but also by listing his "free dockage" ad, with several days between offenses. This was CLEARLY a deliberate and intentional act. It was not a one-time offense - he did it TWICE. I might give him a pass the first time - but not the second. "Steve" doesn't like PAYING for his advertising, you see. Yachtworld and other places (like Yachting mag, etc) all CHARGE real money for their advertising space. What "Steve" did is tantamount to theft. When you're dealing with a multi-hundred-thousand dollar purchase, it is ALL about integrity. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. If "Steve" will intentionally and wantonly ignore the rules here, do you expect that he will be HONEST about the condition of what he sells, to the best of his ability? Why would you believe that, given that he's DOCUMENTED that he won't follow the rules HERE, where there's no money at stake. There is FAR more incentive for someone to do something sleazy when there's a couple hundred grand - or more - on the table. We've already answered the question as to what Bradford and Steve are. He made that one easy, by putting the facts right in front of us. Now all we're arguing about is the price. |

Brokers | ||
|
Yachtgurl, I can see where someone may think Genesis was a little adamant in his response to a posting by a broker on this forum. He didn't leave much wiggle room in his comments. There are a couple of unalterable facts however. (1)This wasn't the first posting by Steve on this forum. (2) Unless the owner of the vessel involved lives on another planet Steve could have just given him the website address so he could place a non commercial posting. This forum is graciously provided for us by Sam's at no cost to the Hatteras owners. All that is requested is that it doesn't become commercialized. The only way that this forum can be policed is if we do it. If that means a broker who breaks the rules gets stepped on without much regard for their fragile ego so be it. NO EXCEPTIONS AT ANY TIME!!!!!

This is the BEST web site I have see for real and specific Hatteras information. I agree with all of the previous posting that want to keep it this an open forum. Some one famous once said "The Price of freedom is eternal vigilance" it sure applies in this case.
If we don't police it ourselves we will be spamed to death............ Mike |
