I'd like to get a list going of Boat Names, Hull #'s and homeports, for purposes of starting an e-mail copy list for technical discussions and sharing stories about these legendary boats.

Sounds great. I Have a 1966, 34 convertible in mint condition. talked about wherever I go. I do all the work myself. very close to original. not afraid to run her out in 15' seas for fun. I'm an old Coast Guard search & rescue coxwain. the CG could of used these boats for S&R. I just cruise and enjoy the comforts of the 60's Hatteras.

I have a 1966 34 convertible hull # 68. Just installed two new Yanmar 6LPA-DTPs and new Phasor 6.5kw genset. Boat the boat as a wreck with good gas engines 10 years ago and decided I liked it enough to go the conversion route.

Forgot to mention homeport is Lighthouse Point, FL. I am a CG Auxiliarist and use the boat mostly for SAR and local missions. Great boat in rough seas.

I would recommend the Yanmars. I put in twin 260 hp. They give me a cruise of 18 kts with top end of 22-23 kts. depending on load. With the 260s, I was able to use existing 1 3/8 inch shafts. The 315s will work also as they are the same size and may give a bit more speed, however, you will have to change shafts and struts to accomodate 1 1/2 inch shafts. I saw one with 460s but that is much faster than I want to go. Are you in Lighthouse Point also?
